A People Business
The Garfield Center's walk-in resource room contains computers with high-speed Internet
access, job listings, resume and interview preparation materials, and machines for
job-related inquires, utilize computers to electronically send resumes and cover letters, and
even update skills with tutorial software.
Individuals who qualify can receive a voucher for vocational training classes offered by more
than 200 certified training organizations.
Our Commitment
The Garfield Workforce Center is a great example of the Mayor's Office of Workforce
Development's (MOWD) commitment to helping people find and keep good jobs, while
meeting Chicago's broad workplace needs.
Our Employers
Local employers utilize the workforce center to access labor market information and
pre-screened job applicants. Employers also conduct on-site recruitment at the center
among other industry-focused business services.
Our Professionals
Career development professionals are also available to provide career and skills
assessments and offer one-on-one employment counseling to those more intensive
services
