SERCO operated Workforce Centers, through its leaders' extensive experience and proven
capability in working with members of the Chicago area business community, is in an
excellent position to engage employers in the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development
(MOWD) system. SERCO recognizes employers as our customers and uses innovative
business approaches to link them to the MOWD services and resources.
To effectively engage employers, SERCO has implemented a Business Services Division
responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with business community,
including chambers of commerce, economic development groups and other entities who
have a vested interest in the economic growth of Chicago. SERCO understands that
successful outcomes for job seekers can only be improved by building strong
relationships with employers.
BUSINESS DRIVEN GOALS
- Consistence with the goals of the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development,
SERCO's Business Services division integrates the goals of Universal Access,
Customer Choice, Services Integration and Accountability, by:
- Increasing awareness of the fundamental business value of the One Stop
system.
- Establishing a business-to-business (B2B) approach to workforce development
- Increasing partnerships between business and Workforce Center partners.
- Facilitating communication between the workforce community, educators,
private sector, and community-based organizations.
- Identifying growth of potential business and industry sectors.
- Utilizing labor market data to drive business development activities.
